What these cover: reading this site, using the tools on it, and subscribing. Consulting engagements are contracted separately and those terms take precedence.

Who you are agreeing with
vikenpatel.com is operated by Viken Patel. Using the site means accepting the terms on this page. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. There is nothing here that requires you to agree to anything in order to read it.
The content is information, not advice
The articles, guides, resources and tools on this site are published to be useful generally. They are not professional advice about your specific situation, and reading them does not create a client relationship.
Search behaviour, AI systems and the platforms discussed here change frequently. Everything is written as accurately as I can manage on the date shown on the page, and each guide carries a review date. Decisions you make off the back of it are yours. If you want advice about your own business, that is what the consulting engagements are for, and they come with a contract.

The writing, diagrams, frameworks and code on this site belong to Viken Patel unless stated otherwise.
You may read it, share links to it, and quote it with attribution and a link back, including in AI-assisted work and in training material, as long as the source is named. You may not republish whole pieces as your own, or resell them. Internal use inside your own company is fine and does not need permission.
Tools on this site
The FAQ schema generator runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into it is sent anywhere, stored, or seen by me. It is provided as-is: check the output before you put it on a production site, because the responsibility for what your pages emit is yours.
Newsletter and enquiries
Subscribing gets you the newsletter and nothing else. No separate marketing sequence, and every issue carries an unsubscribe link. Sending an enquiry does not oblige either of us to anything. How that data is handled is set out in the privacy policy.
Links to other sites
This site links out to sources, tools and documentation I do not control, and to theCSS Agency, which I founded and which handles delivery work. I am not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of anywhere you land after leaving here.
Availability and liability
The site is provided as-is. I do not guarantee it will always be available, or that every page is free of errors. If you find something wrong, tell me and I will fix it.
To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for losses arising from your use of this site or from decisions based on its content. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
Consulting work
Scope, fees, timelines and terms for any engagement are agreed in a separate written contract for that engagement. Where that contract and this page disagree, the contract wins. Nothing described on this site is an offer capable of acceptance.
Changes and governing law
These terms may change. The date at the top changes when they do, and there is no archive of previous versions.
They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute.
